On April 22,2025, in near Pahalgam, Anantnag district, a devastating terror attack occurred, this assault resulted death of 26 travelers, 25 from India and 1from Nepal and a-lot citizens got injured. It considered that the attack was deadliest in the region after two decades or since 2008 Mumbai attack.
Attack Details:
- Date and Time:- The attack took place on 22nd of April, 2025, around at 3:00 PM.
- Location:- In the Anantnag district of Indian Administered Jammu & Kashmir, specifically targeted tourists in the Baisaran valley near Pahalgam.
- Perpetrator:- The attack was performed by, The resistance Front, A militant group believed to be an offshoot Pakistan group Lashkar-e-Taiba. Saifulla kasuri, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander was the master mind behind this major attack.
- Motive:- Their Aim of attack was to resist demographic changes in Kashmir valley.
- Method:- Five military man, armed with M4 carbines and AK47s, wearing military style uniform, openly aimed on unsuspecting tourists.
Casualty and Injuries:
- Death troll:- As of now, 26 death troll are detected from the Pahalgam Terror Attack, stands at 26 people get killed, 25 from India's different cities, many of whom were Hindu Male tourists, and one foreign tourist.
- Injuries:- Over 20 people are injured and hospitalized.
Reactions:
- Domestic Response:- everyone get shocked and condemned on the incident, Prime minister Narendra Modi stated it "shocking and Painful". and also the Indian government launched a search operation with the army forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
- International Response:- Several countries, Iran, United states, Israel, united Arab Emirates, Italy, United Kingdom and more offered condolence to the victims' families.
- Local Response:- Local also helped in rescuing and offered shelters to the needy and helped transporting injured to the Hospitals.
- Security Measures:- A temporary lockdown was imposed in Phalagam.
Conclusion:
The attack was significantly strained relation between India and Pakistan. because of this attack a-lot diplomatic tensions rises, where Prime minister Narendra Modi vows to punish Kashmir Attackers, suspends Indus water treaty.
